Reginald Heber Fitz, known for establishing modern surgical treatment for appendicitis. A.B. Harvard, 1864, M.D., Harvard, 1868. Appointed Instructor in Pathological Anatomy, Harvard Medical School, 1870. Appointed to the Faculty of Medicine, 1873 and promoted to professor of Pathological Anatomy, 1878. Appointed Hersey Professor of the Theory and Practice of Physic, 1892.
