Historical Note

In 1946, Public Health Bacteriology was one of three departments that relocated into the Collis P. Huntington Memorial Hospital Building at the corner of Shattuck Street and Huntington Avenue. After student laboratory facilities were built on the first floor, a new course - Public Health Bacteriology 11 - was offered in 1948 by Dr. Edward S. Murray with the participation of Drs. Edsall, Snyder, Chang, Hinton, and MacCready. The new course combined demonstrations of lab techniques with student exercises.
