Historical Note

After land next to Massachusetts General Hospital was donated to Harvard Medical School, a new building was constructed to house both the expanding school and the Warren Anatomical Museum. Over the next 35 years faculty and staff increased to approximately 50 and, in addition to the original anatomy lab, four new labs were established for physiology, chemistry, histology, and pathology. More information: President's report, 1846-1847.
