Historical Note

To provide students with increased clinical opportunities, in 1810 the Medical School moved from Cambridge to Boston, where John Warren and his son John Collins Warren had installed an anatomical theatre and dissecting room at 49 Marlborough Street (now 400 Washington Street). The school had also successfully negotiated with the City of Boston to acquire clinical material from the Almshouse infirmiry for use in teaching.
