Collection includes eight sermons, 1891-1904; a handwritten essay entitled Parishes and parsons of the olden time and newspaper clippings. Also includes a notebook, ca. 1880, including clippings from Sunday School magazines of Seaver's stories with manuscript revisions and additions; notes on his projected collections of the Billy Duncan stories, the Montrose stories/sketches, and the Torty stories.

Biographical / Historical

Nathanael Seaver, Jr. (1836-1919) was born in Boston and graduated from Harvard Divinity School in 1864. He was ordained to the Unitarian ministry in Walpole, New Hampshire, and also served parishes in Davenport, Iowa, and Dorchester, Melrose, Scituate, Marshfield, Templeton, Millbury, Leicester, and Pittsfield, Massachusetts.
