These are mostly photographic enlargements made from Adams' negatives, made with the "wet process." Included with the materials is a Polaroid Research Laboratories curve graph, so it is possible that these enlargements were made by the Polaroid labs. Many of these have the same portrait of a young girl as a subject. There are also negatives.

Memorandum #347 "Hasselblad information and folder" and #396 "95A adaptation to Hasselblad," along with Hasselblad brochures, instruction pamphlets and a film holder accessory. Adams appears to have been exploring the possibility of using a Polaroid back with a Hasselblad camera.

The black and white test photographs notably include a portrait of painter Georgia O'Keefe and of animal skulls in her New Mexico home, portraits of photographer Laura Gilpin in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and landscapes taken in Death Valley National Park and in Arizona.

Internal Polaroid memoranda about testing 4x5 packs and pack holders along with Adams' memoranda on the subject. Memoranda numbers and subjects are: #397 "4x5 Polapan, soft transp. etc. resume," #406 "4x5, etc.," #426 "4x5 and general comment," #432 "4x5 coating and other troubles," #452 "Evaluation: 4x5 holder and packs," and #457 "4x5 type 30."
