The William Lloyd Garrison papes contain the personal letter books of Garrison dating from 1903 to 1915 and 1919 to 1921. The letters relate to family affairs, the Harvard Class of 1897, trustee matters, and such subjects as the single tax.

Biographical / Historical

William Lloyd Garrison (1874-1964) was an investment banker. Garrison graduated with A.B. degree from Harvard in 1897. He joined the Boston firm of Perry, Coffin and Burr in 1898. In 1916 the firm was dissolved and a new corporation, Coffin and Burr, was formed. Garrison served as president of Coffin and Burr from 1916 to 1933. Garrison was a grandson and namesake of the famous abolitionist.
