Content Description
The collection consists of end of fiscal year published annual reports from the Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration, later Harvard Business School (HBS). These reports generally contain an opening “highlights” section in the first few pages, summarizing the information given in the entire report. The remainder of the reports consist of information about the development of the Education Programs (such as the MBA program, doctoral program, and partnership programs), publications and research by faculty, administrative activities such as funds, associations, and financial aid, demographics about faculty and students, acceptance rates, and post-graduation job offers. Some also include more specific financial reports. From 1908-1981 the annual report was titled “Dean’s Report” and it was formally submitted to the Harvard University President at the end of the fiscal year. Beginning In 2002 the name was changed to the “HBS Financial Report,” but from 2003-2009 it was renamed the “Annual Report.” In 2010 the name was shortened to just “Annual,” with an exception in 2015 and 2016 when it was called “Financial Report” and “Annual Report” again respectively. The reports from 1908-1968 were bound into four volumes, while the remaining reports are individual bound items. Beginning in 2023, the full report was published only as a website.
