William Applebaum papers

Scope and Contents

The William Applebaum papers consist of materials related to a store location study conducted by HBS professor William Applebaum in 1963. The sudy was conducted with 170 large retailing companies including department stores, drug stores, clothing stores, discount stores, shoe stores, and motels. The collections contains questionnaires, research, correspondence and papers related to the study. The questionnaires are arranged alphabetically by the name of the store.

Biographical / Historical

William Applebaum was a long time executive at Stop & Shop Supermarkets Incororated of Boston, Mass and lecturer of food distribution and comparative marketing at HBS. He was a graduate of the University of Minnesota and held a research fellowship at University of Cincinnati.
