Processing Information

Staff actively crawl selected websites using Archive-It, a subscription web archiving service from the Internet Archive that helps organizations to harvest, build, and preserve collections of digital content. Websites crawled include standard websites that are primarily text and html with images, enhanced websites with dynamic content and embedded multimedia, news articles and blog posts, and social media platforms. Staff review archived websites post capture for quality but some content from websites may not be captured due to technological limitations. Descriptions of collections are based on the title and contents viewed on home page where possible, otherwise the title is devised by the archivist.

This collection includes material provided through Archive-It's Waybackfill service which incorporates websites originally crawled for the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine for dates prior to Baker Library Special Collections initiating crawls of these websites. These websites were not crawled using Baker Library Special Collections standards of quality assurance and may be incomplete. Researchers may experience missing pages and/or links and dynamic pages that do not render due to missing elements that create interactive effects.
