Shipping firm, Boston, Mass. George Clement Lord (1823-1893) originally of Kennebunk, Me. headed the firm. Lord moved to Boston in 1843 and formed the company with is brother Charles Lord. Lord was also president of the New England Mutual Fire and Marine Insurance Company and director and president of the Boston and Maine Railroad.
