Biographical / Historical

The Boston Sugar Refinery was established in East Boston, Massachusetts in 1834. It was the first manufacturing business located in East Boston. The refinery was credited with creating granulated sugar in 1853. In 1887 the refinery was absorbed by the Sugar Trust. Thomas Lamb, Boston based merchant and businessman was the treasurer and agent of the company.
