Homer & Palmer & Joseph T. Adams advertising ledgers

Scope and Contents

Three advertising ledgers, containing accounts of advertisements appearing for individuals and firms in the Daily Centinel and Gazette. Each ledger includes the names of advertising clients, both individuals and organizations, and their advertising expenses by year. Entries include the subject of the advertisement and its cost. Subjects include real estate, help wanted, goods, services, auction notices, and probate, dividend, and meeting notices. Ledgers 2 & 3 also include indices of clients. It is unclear as to who Homer & Palmer are and how they are related to Joseph T. Adams. It is also unknown who maintained the ledgers.
