Scope and Contents
An account of the 8th voyage of Captain Edward R. Ashley on the whaling vessel Ship Governor Troup. The ship sailed December 2, 1862 from New Bedford, Massachusetts to Hawaii and returned home on June 4, 1865. The enntries include observations of weather, wind patterns, sailing direction, ships seen, and longitude and latitude recordings.
