Scope and Contents
Contains annual financial statements produced each year by the wharfinger, George Homer, as part of his responsibilities as agent to the Proprietors of the Boston Pier, or Long Wharf. The statements include expenses such as supplies and routine repairs, dividend payments, and the payment of the wharfinger’s share. Income came from wharfage and dockage fees, rents of the wharf’s stores, and sales of water and other supplies.
