Scope and Contents

Side 1: Introductory remarks by Lowell Thomas who explains what the event is about, including that it is taking place in Waterbury, Connecticut and that there are about 15,000 people assembled to watch the presentation of the Army Navy E to Scovill Manufacturing. Then introduces Mayor Vincent Scully of Waterbury who describes (and praises) the manufacturing production work being done by Scovill to support the war effort. Side 2: Speech by Colonel F.H. Payne conferring honor upon Scovill. Speaks about long relationship Scovill has had with the military and the production efforts done by Scovill which has earned them this award.
