Scope and Contents
Contains numbered correspondence, accounts, and legal documents related to the capture and condemnation of George Dodge's and Israel Thorndike's cargo and the schooner Three Brothers in St. Lucia by English privateers, and efforts at restitution, dated 1794-1795. Included are a charter party agreement, crew depositions about the capture, copies of proclamations, and other evidence used in the case appealing the ship's condemnation before the British Court of Vice Admiralty. Also includes correspondence from the ship's captain, William Abbott, and invoices.
