Scope and Contents

Contains a charter agreement leasing the schooner Prudentia, owned by Brown & Thorndike and Lee & Cabot, to fisherman Azor Orne for four months, a counterpart of that agreement, and a deed, several invoices, receipts, and promissory notes, and a small account book, dated 1790-1792. The account book, kept by Thorndike's wife, Anna, records payments for items like ribbon, gloves, hair combs, thread, diapers, and stockings, assorted groceries, and tools the Thorndike farm. Some entries include the names of women the goods were purchased from, and there are is also payment to a woman for nursing, presumably Thorndike's child.
