Scope and Contents

Contains orders, bills, and accounts of William Pepperrell, Andrew Pepperrell, and others, 1755-1795. Includes an order to William Pepperrell from his son-in-law, Nathaniel Sparhawk (1715–1776), for salt, bill to Pepperrell for tobacco, a list of debts in Maryland, and a list of bartered goods, such as felt hats, "negro caps," dry goods, buckles, and commodities to be sent to an unknown recipient, like powder, lead, axes, and gold. There are also printed regulations for ship masters and pilots in the port of Nassau, Bahamas, with inscriptions of names on the verso including Seth Bowen, pilot of the sloop Ambuscade.
