Scope and Contents
Primarily a letter book of William Trotter concerning his import business, dated 1802-1807, as well as ledger entries dating from 1798 to 1808. Included are accounts of his partnership with Joseph Sansom, adventures to China by the ships Pigou and Delaware, an adventure to Alexandria, Ephraim Haines, Hannah Baker, William Sansom, Jane Owen, Rebecca Jones, Jane Larymore (Laremore), Henry Pratt, and Samuel Volans; and entries for bonds and notes payable and receivable, interest, cash, expenses, and profits and losses.
