Scope and Contents

Contains bills for wharfage and labor, including a survey of cargo from Antwerp, Belgium, aboard the ship Rebecca, addressed to Samuel Coates. There are also several freight lists for the ship Moses Brown, a bill to Samuel Coates for publishing notices of ships' voyages in the American Daily Advertiser, printed bonds of duties and a bill of exchange, and an account current between Rhode Island merchant and politician Jabez Bowen (1739-1815) and the Pennsylvania Hospital, which was settled by Coates.
