Included is an invoice for legal services for a federal case Coates was involved in related to the cargo of the sloop Merrimack, and an account of the costs associated with legal action related to Gould's island and recovering a deed for "Smith's shop," and the settlement of an account between Samuel Coates and Coates & Randolph.
