Scope and Contents

This series consists of materials relating to requests for Howard H. Stevenson's expertise in the fields of entrepreneurship, real estate management and development, and business administration. The bulk of material relates to boards of directors and advisors on which he served. Material from board meetings includes financial reports and summaries, meeting minutes, motions, operations reports, resolutions, strategy documentation, and updates on subsidiaries. Also included in this series are articles that Howard H. Stevenson reviewed for refereed journals, bonus plans, business plans, financial results and analyses, investment data, operating and capital budgets, organizational charts, quarterly reports, and sales and booking analyses. Finally, this series contains audit committee materials, including internal audit information, and executive compensation committee material, including compensation histories and recommendations.

Biographical / Historical

Howard H. Stevenson actively sought out consulting opportunities to increase his understanding of real world problems. He searched for difficult problems that he could help solve as a way to improve his skills and expand his knowledge of how companies worked. The experience that Stevenson gained through these opportunities directly affected his teaching at Harvard Business School and helped him lay the groundwork for his real estate and entrepreneurship courses.
