Contains correspondence regarding a note payable to Samuel Abbot from Josiah, William, and Ebenezer Porter, and Benjamin Merriam, and Abbot’s lawsuit against Josiah Porter’s estate to recover payment, dated 1775-1809. Includes letters from Kneeland to Merriam, and correspondence between Kneeland and attorney Colin Campbell about the lawsuit and judgment against the administrators of the Porter estate.
