Scope and Contents

Diaries kept by John Heard, 1839-1866, describe voyages from Boston to Havana, Cuba and Cronstadt, Trinidad and Tobago, life in Ipswich, Massachusetts, and aboard a trading voyage up the Yangtze River. Also included is a typewritten copy of an autobiography written by John Heard in 1891.
