This series contains papers relating to canal engineering projects supervised by Loammi Baldwin. Included are the Middlesex Canal, Cape Cod Canal, Merrimack Canal, and various other canals throughout New England, Canada, and New York. Records include correspondence, surveys, drawings, legal material, and reports.
