Ledger kept from 1837-1845 by Medford, Massachusetts lumber and coal merchant Pyam Cushing. Cushing's entries detail sales of lumber, timber, boards to individuals and businesses. Also included are entries for agreements made to construct or alter parts of ships being built and expenses for the construction.
