Scope and Contents:

The collection consists of receipt books, ships’ accounts, letter books, bills and a receipt book relating to whaling, 1831-1838. The letter book contains both foreign and domestic letters, documenting whaling voyages and shipping. There is also a receipt book, 1834-1835, for supplies for lighthouses. Unbound papers, 1820-1865, include bills of lading, accounts current, bills, letters, and miscellany.
