Edward Warburg (1908-1992); American philanthropist and patron of the arts from New York City; taught Modern Art at Bryn Mawr College and was vice director for public affairs of the Metropolitan Museum of Art; co-founder of American Ballet and the School of American Ballet; collected many paintings and sculptures, and donated the bulk of them to museums, especially the Museum of Modern Art in New York)
