Biography

William Perkins was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1804. He began working in the counting house of Robert G. Shaw. After his co-partnership ended, he founded the firm William Perkins & Co. Perkins died in boston in 1887. Perkins was president of the Tremont National Bank and the China Mutual Insurance Company. He married Catherine Callender Amory.
