Biography

Thomas Gold Appleton was the son of Boston merchant Nathan Appleton. Appleton graduated from Harvard in 1831. Thomas Gold Appleton was an American art collector, artist, and writer. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow became his brother-in-law after marrying Appleton's sister Frances.
