Biography
Robert Marion La Follette Jr. (1895-1953) was born to Robert M. La Follette, a U.S Representative, U.S Senator, and Governor from Wisconsin and his wife Isabelle (Belle) Case La Follette. He attended the University of Wisconsin, but did not graduate due to illness. He served as his father's private secretary from 1919-1925. When his father died he was elected to his U.S. Senate seat in 1925. He married his secretary, Rachel Wilson Young in 1930, and they had two sons, Joseph Oden and Bronson Cutting. He died of a gun shot wound days after his 58th birthday. He is buried in Forest Hill Cemetery, Madison, Wisconin.

La Follette] to Mildred Bliss telling her that the garden party was very lovely, and La Follette is sorry that Robert La Follette was unable to enjoy it also. During the party she wanted to take a moment to thank her for Mildred's kindess to La Follette's sister Matilda Young who is acting as secretary for the Film Society of Washington.
