Georgia Fitzgerald lived in San Antonio, Texas and visited Washington, D.C. for the first time in 1940 where she visited the Dumbarton Oaks Garden and stayed at the Wardman Park Hotel, on Connecticut and Woodley Road, Washington, D.C. During her Dumbarton Oaks Garden visit she had tea with the Women's Overseas Service League.
