The bulk of the photographs date from the period 1969 to 1983, beginning from the time Ferguson was appointed Special Coordinator of Relief to the Civilian Victims of the Nigerian Civil War. There are several miscellaneous items (11-6), including an example of African (Nigerian?) embroidery.

Professional papers created and assembled by David Farquhar Cavers from 1932-1988, documenting his work at both the Duke and Harvard Law Schools. The collection includes correspondence, teaching files, subject files, and material related to his work for Walter E. Meyer Research Institute.

Material covers Griswold's professional career as teacher, scholar, and private consultant, also his public service. Among his papers one significant group pertains to his work as a member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, and of the Hague Conference on Private International Law. Other material relates to his legal writings, and to special trips he took to Africa and Russia.

This collection presents a nearly complete run of the Harvard Law School Record from 1946 to 2006. The Record is part of the Red Set Collection held by Historical & Special Collections. During its run, the Record has undergone two title changes, and is now published solely online .

Contains materials collected by James M. Landis, as chair of the SEC, reflecting the development of the Securities Act of 1933. Includes House and Senate bills, comparison and conference printings, and memoranda.

Contains correspondence to and from a variety of individuals regarding Dane's law practice and his endowments to Harvard University for professorships in natural history and in law.

Correspondence, reports, oral histories, photographs, etc., of Justine Wise Polier, judge and authority on juvenile justice.

Papers concern temperance, Harvard Law School, and the colonization of Liberia. Correspondents include Joseph Story, Lemuel Shaw, Charles Sumner, and Willard Witte.

Contains legal papers of Manasseh Smith, Sr., Joseph Emerson Smith, Samuel Emerson Smith and other members of the Smith family who practiced law in midcoast Maine, Boston and Chicago from the late 18th century to the early late 19th century. Also contains papers relating to the real estate and paper mill business of Dudley W. Moor and Edward W. Heath.

The collection consists almost exclusively of black and white photographs. There are also a few letters and notes identifying many of the images in the collection. The photos span the years 1905 to 1994, with the bulk of them dating from the period starting with Hastie's appointment as Civilian Aide to Secretary of War Harold Stimson in 1940, through his tenure on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and ending with his death in 1976.
