Biography
Russell & Co. was the largest American trading house of the mid-19th century in China. Founded by MIddletown, Conn. merchant Samuel Russell, but eventually expanded by Thomas H. Perkins, John Perkins Cushing, Robert Bennet Forbes, John Murray Forbes, and Augustine Heard.
