Scope and Contents: This collection consists of typescripts of Wyer Groves Sargent's journals, kept between 1845 and 1900. The journals record Sargent's day to day life as a merchant running a family store in Sargentville, Maine. He traveled extensively to buy and sell goods, but was especially active along the New England coast.
