Materials accumulated by Elliot C. Rothenberg for his own use during his representation of Dan Cohen, whose successful lawsuit against Cowles Media Company and Northwest Publications, Inc., is the subject of the collection. In this case the Supreme Court ruled that the First Amendment right to freedom of the press does not override a newspaper's obligation to honor its promises of confidentiality.
