Samuel Bancroft Barlow papers

Overview: The Samuel Bancroft Barlow papers, 1798-1876, consist of letters from other Barlows concerning the family's genealogy, research notes and manuscript family histories by Barlow, and printed circulars and certificates from medical institutions and societies and the Massachusetts Militia. There are also letters from colleagues and associates including physicians Eli Ives (1779-1861), Joseph F. Jewett (1788-1859), and Vincent Holcombe, and a small amount of legal documents.

Overview: Benjamin Wadsworth (1750-1826), a Danvers, Massachusetts, minister, was born on July 18, 1750, in Milton. He graduated from Harvard College with an AB in 1769 and received an AM in 1772. This collection consists of an estate document and deed of his father, Benjamin Wadsworth (1707-1771), as well as a wooden box cover with an engraving of Harvard Hall and surrounding buildings, dated 1765-1775.
