Overview: Donald Wyman was the Arnold Arboretum Horticulturist. These photographs depict individual plants as well as events and places at the Arboretum, and views of other locations.
Overview: Compiled by J. G. Jack, primarily during his tenure at the Arnold arboretum, this collection consists of biographical information and correspondence, as well as publications, images, and research notes. J. G. Jack worked as a lecturer at the Arnold Arboretum and was the first staff member, after Sargent, to visit Asia. The collection covers the time period from 1887-1949, with most materials coming from the 1930’s.
Abstract: The collection contains records of the legal dispute between The Association for the Arnold Arboretum, Inc. and the President and Fellows of Harvard College that became widely known as “The Arnold Arboretum Controversy.” After a protracted legal battle the outcome was finally adjudicated by the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court in 1966.
