BIOGRAPHY
Mary Sands Thompson graduated from Radcliffe in 1917, and worked as secretary for, among others, Amy Lowell, 1918, Amelia Reinhardt, President of Mills College, 1922, the Director of the Fogg Art Museum, 1923-1929, and as executive secretary of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, 1929-1931. An enthusiastic amateur actress, she was a member of the Idler Club at college, and after graduation a member of the Cambridge Dramatic Club and the Brookline Amateurs. After her marriage in 1932, in addition to her family duties, Thompson served in a voluntary capacity on the Parent Teacher Association, League of Women Voters, and on Ration Board of Fairfield, Connecticut, and on a number of civic organizations.
