BIOGRAPHY
Katharine Langdon Munroe entered Radeliffe in 1910. Active socially, she was a member of the Idier, the Music Club, the English Club, the Mandolin Club and was manager of the Junior Prom. In 1914, she graduated cum laude and in 1915 married Frederick Lansing Day, a writer, and graduate of Yale. Her life centered in the home, her family and Cambridge society. She continued her involvement with Radcliffe by taking courses at the college, and as President of both the Radcliffe Club of Boston and the Radcliffe Alumnae Association. Munroe was divorced from her husband in 1938. In 1939, she was chairman of the class of 1914's 25th reunion. From 1946-1949, she worked on Radcliffe's 70th Anniversary Fund and from 1947-1950, she was Chairman of the Regional Scholarship Committee In 1954, she worked fro Radcliffe's 75th anniversary celebration and from 1955-1956, she served on the Committee on the Alumnae Achievement Awards. In addition to her activities at Radcliffe, she belonged to the Reading Club, the Mother's Club and the League of Women Voters: she was a member of the League's Ways and Means Committee. Munroe died suddenly of cancer in 1956.
