It is divided into two subseries.

TERMS OF USE

Access. Access to all NWPC records is restricted to those with the written permission of the NWPC executive director or president, except that 1) open records, consisting of publications (#361.1-368.16), mailings (and events, #104.9-106.9), clippings (#354.20-360.12), publicity and awards (see press releases, #351.17-352.13), memorabilia (#376.1m-376.12m, 377F+B.1m-377F+B.10m, 378F+B.9m-378F+B.10m, Mem.1-Mem.8), photographs (#PD.1-PD.99), and other documents generally available to the wider NWPC membership, are available for research without restriction, and 2) closed records designated below are closed to research for the length of time indicated, but are available for NWPC administrative use with the written permission of NWPC's executive director or president:

  1. Administrative Committee records: closed 50 years from date of most recent document in folder.
  2. Board records: closed 5 years from date of most recent document in folder.
  3. Appointment files: closed 50 years from date of most recent document in folder.
  4. Field reports: closed 50 years from date of most recent document in folder.
  5. Financial records: development files and other records of donations, as well as non-public records concerning candidates' contributors and disbursements, are closed for 50 years from date of most recent document in folder.
  6. Grievances within NWPC: closed 30 years from date of most recent document in folder.
  7. Personnel records, including intern files: closed 80 years from date of most recent document in folder, except that employee may have access to her/his own files with the written permission of the executive director or president.
  8. Political Planning Committee: minutes, correspondence, and other related records not widely circulated to NWPC leadership are closed 50 years from date of most recent document in folder.
  9. Any other records deemed by the Caucus' Administrative Committee to be confidential, or deemed by library staff to constitute an unwarranted invasion of privacy, shall be closed to research for a period mutually agreed upon by library staff and the NWPC executive director or president.

Membership records are temporarily closed pending negotiations between the library and the NWPC.
