Biographical / Historical

Lucile Atcherson Curtis, 1894-1986. Columbus, Ohio. As the first woman in the Foreign Service, Lucile Curtis served in the Division of Latin American Affairs in the Department of State from 1922 to 1925, and in the American legation in Berne and Panama City from 1925 to 1927.
