The winning entry of the competition for the memorial park and museum in the center of one of the 1945 atomic bombing sites. The best known center wing is a two-story reinforced concrete structure with sculptural free-standing columns at ground level. The bridges and a cenotaph were designed by Isamu Noguchi, although the cenotaph was not realized. Partly built.
