Series A: Project Files: Architectural Drawings -- シリーズA: プロジェクトファイル:建築図面・ドローイング

Scope and Contents

Series A consists of the plans and drawings for 140 projects by Kenzō Tange. Projects are arranged chronologically spanning from 1946 to 1993.

Project names, and project geographic locations, are indicated both in English and Japanese. Each project is numbered consecutively and comprises a subseries within series A, with folders and rolls of drawings for each project numbered consecutively thereunder.

The projects, both built and unbuilt, represent a diversity of scales of intervention (from exhibitions to individual buildings to city master plans). The drawings for many of the built projects include architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings. In addition, the drawings for some projects represent the full design process (from preliminary sketches to design development and construction or working drawings).
