General note

Series Note

Nieman fellowships are awarded by Harvard University to professional journalists for a one year's study at Harvard covering broad or specific subjects of their choice. These fellowships were created under a bequest by Agnes Wahl Nieman "to promote and elevate standards of journalism"; her husband, Lucius W. Nieman, had founded the Milwaukee Journal.

This Series includes memoranda and outlines announcing topics which were to be discussed by the Nieman Fellows as a group with Harvard Law School faculty members. AES was a member of the Harvard Law School Committee which arranged these meetings. Period covered is 1951 to 1966.
