Thomas T. Winant collection of Harvard postcards
Overview
Collection of 231 postcards, collected by Thomas T. Winant, chiefly depicting exteriors of Harvard and Radcliffe buildings, as well as Harvard landmarks, Cambridge views, and Harvard's graduate schools. Most of the postcards are blank, but some were mailed and contain writing. Postmarks for the latter suggest that the bulk dates from 1904 to 1908; however, there are about 20 postcards that are probably from the 1990s.

Collection of 231 postcards, collected by Thomas T. Winant, chiefly depicting exteriors of Harvard and Radcliffe buildings, many of Harvard Yard and the student dormitories, as well as other Harvard landmarks, such as the John Harvard statue, the Washington Elm, and the pump. Also includes more expansive views of the Harvard campus and immediate environs, including Harvard Square and Cambridge. Other Harvard views are included, such as the various gates, the Business School, the Law School, the Medical School, and Harvard Stadium. Most of the postcards are blank, but some were mailed and contain writing. Postmarks for the latter suggest that the bulk dates from 1904 to 1908; however, there are about 20 postcards that are more modern, circa 1990s.
Biographical note on Thomas T. Winant
Thomas T. Winant received his Certificate of Advanced Study from the Harvard Graduate School of Education in 1980.
