Description

This panorama of the Peruvian mountains including El Misti is composed of nine cyanotype photograph prints glued together, a technique called "photomontage." The depicted area shows the mountains of bare rock with parts covered in snow. In the center of the image are three seated persons wearing traditional Peruvian capes and hats. In the left of the image, an inscription reads "Weather station, 19,000 [feet]" with an arrow pointing to the left-most summit.
