Group photograph of men dressed in prison stripes and caps. On the left is a large drum with "Sanford's Band Malden" written on it. On the right one of the "prisoners" is on horseback. A wheelbarrow containing straw is center front. The photograph was taken outdoors but the exact location is not apparent.
