Biographical / Historical

Established in 1782, Harvard Medical School began with a handful of students and a faculty of three: Benjamin Waterhouse, professor of the theory and practice of physic, John Warren (1753-1815; Harvard AB 1771), professor of anatomy and surgery, and Aaron Dexter (1750-1829), professor of chemistry and materia medica (pharmacology). The school moved from Cambridge to Boston in 1810.
